Yeshua and Salvation

We are going to look at scripture a little different on salvation in Yeshua. First let me ask you as a believer a question. Do you believe all you need to do is just believe in Jesus to be saved? I have heard so many pastors say all you have to do to be saved is accept Jesus into your heart and you will be saved. It would be great if that is all we had to do. Saying a prayer and excepting Jesus into our hearts is only the start within a believers life. When I go back and look at salvation when I was first saved. I realize how wrong I was and yes it is hard to change what one has believed for so many years.

If you do not know for sure you are saved let the Lord place a seed in your heart then the Holy Spirit can water this seed. Then with prayer and the Holy Spirit leading you through God's word you will find truth that will lead you to eternal life. I have walked this road where there is confusion in ones life and believe me when I say there is more to salvation then just saying a prayer.

"For so the Lord has commanded us, I have placed you as a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the end of the earth." (Acts 13:47) "You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews." (John 4:22) Since this is the word of Jesus we should pay close attention to what He said. So what did He just tell us? First, Paul tells us the Jewish people are to be a light to the Gentiles that will lead us to salvation. Second, Jesus tells us salvation is from the Jews. Paul tells us the Jewish people were entrusted with the very words of God. (Romans 3:2)

As one reads through the New Testament you see how Jewish this book is. Our salvation cannot be found without this Jewish Messiah. I want you to search out these scriptures for your self. Just keep this in mind the Jewish people are not grafted into a Gentile olive tree. The Gentiles are grafted into a Jewish olive tree, that is why we are the wild shoot. There is no place in the Kingdom of God for Replacement Theology

"I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; by wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths." (2 Timothy 4:1-4)

Is this not exactly what is happening today. Most Christians have never read God's Word from Genesis to Revelation. So how would they even know what God's Word said? They could tell you what their pastor said last week, or something someone else told them that made them feel good. Perhaps they watched a religious show on the television, such as the History Channel, or the Discovery Channel. They are (95 percent incorrect), when it comes to the true word of God.

Time is getting short! If the Messiah came tonight, how would He see you as a believer? Would He say, well done my faithful servant, or would He say depart from me, I never knew you? (Matthew 7:22-23) There is more to salvation than just saying a prayer one day, then thinking you can live your life anyway you want and still be saved. How sad for those who never hear the truth.

"And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, behold, the sower went out to sow; and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. Others fell on rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil. But when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them out. And others fell on the soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty. He who has ears, let Him hear." (Matthew 13:3-9)

When we look at verses 18 through 23 in Matthew 13; Jesus gives us the interpretation of this parable. "Hear then the parable of the sower. When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road." There is two kingdoms one is the kingdom of God the other is the kingdom of Satan. When you have no understanding of God's word Satan comes and leads you into false doctrine. You then become a part of the kingdom of Satan. You have now closed your ears to the truth of God's word.

"The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immedediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when afflication or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away." Here is a temporary believer who will close their ears to the truth as soon as the joy of the Lord fades away. They have not taken hold of a firm root that the Lord has offered them. Therefore they fall away and go back into the world.

"And the one on whom seed was sown among the throns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful." Here is a believer who is more worried about wealth and the world rather then following the Lord.

"And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty". Here is a believer who hears God's word and understands bringing forth good fruit. This believer will walk with the Lord no matter what takes place in his are her life. We know Jesus is refering to believers here in this parable. So now I ask which one are you?

In verses 24 through 30; "Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares? And he said to them, an enemy has done this! The slaves said to him, Do you want us, to go and gather them up? But he said, No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; gather the wheat into my barn."

Jesus went on to tell us about the parable of the Mustard seed, also the parable of the Kingdom of heaven. In verses 37 through 40 Jesus tells us;"The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, and the field is the world; as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. So as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age."

Jesus gives us the interpretation of these parables. "The Son Of Man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all the stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and they will throw them into the furnace of fire, in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear". (Matthew 13:41-43)

"And there is salvation in no one else! For there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) Without Jesus/Yeshua there is no salvation. When there is no repentance of sin there is no forgiveness in a believers life. Let us compare this with Passover, when the blood was applied to the door, the angel of death passed over all the firstborn. Those who did not have the blood on the door, when the angel of death came, they were killed.

That is how it will be with the wheat and the tares at the end of days. All sin leads to death when their is no repentance, true repentance daily leads to everlasting life. Are you covered by the blood of Yeshua? Just saying a prayer and excepting the Saviour is only the beginning.

No one can say that salvation is not a free gift from God, and yes we are under grace. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as result of works, so that no one may boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) There is more to God's word than just saying we are under grace and receive salvation through repentance. "Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance." (Matthew 3:8) "And that repentance for forgiveness of sins be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem." (Luke 24:47)

Today it makes no difference if you are Jewish or Gentile, as I said before we must all be saved through the name of Jesus/Yeshua. I do not care how many good deeds you have done today or how good you think you are. Perhaps you feel you already know God's truth and you do not need to study God's word. Then their are some who pick and choose a few verses from the Bible. Then say this is all I need to be saved. Here is what I have learned from studying God's Word through the years. God has only given us one path to follow to receive salvation.

"There are six things which the Lord hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, a feet that run rapidly to evil, a false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers." (Proverbs 6:16-19) You may say that is the God of the Old Testament, our God in the New Testament is love. Oh really! When did He change? My Bible tells me the God of the New Testament is also the God of the Old Testament. Since we do not interpet God's word properly we have all kinds of crazy doctrines today. Have you ever thought about how many denomenations we have today. We now have 40,514 denominations, then we have the Catholic Church, the Greek Orthodox Church, and of course the cults.

"If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, do not handle, do not taste, do not touch! (which all refer to things destined to perish with use)-in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men? These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value againt fleshly indulgence." (Colossians 2:20-23) When our faith is built on commandments of men and not on truth of God's word. Then our faith has no foundation only the traditions and false doctrines of men.

We will let Jesus tell us were His teachings came from. "So Jesus answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but Him who sent me." (John 7:16) Who's teaching did Jesus bring? Who is the one who sent Him? We know His Father sent Him no other then the God of the Old Testament. We know Jesus taught from the Old Testament the teachings and instructions of His Father. Wake up Christians! We have made a new gospel that does not teach what Jesus said His Father's teachings were. What many choose to believe is based on one's denomination and what their teachings are. Can your denomination line up with God's word, or is it man made teachings with some truth.

As we look at God's word where are you with your beliefs? "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murders and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolters and all liers, their part will be in the lake of fire that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8) With this feel good religion of today we have no fear of God. We forget God is not just a God of love. He also is a God of wrath.

One thing I have learned through the years each denomination picks and desides what they want to believe. Many years ago I started reading all of the aprocrypha books, such as Lost Books of the Bible and the Forgotten books of Eden. Next I read New Age beliefs as well as the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Along with the ancient Babylonian religion and the cults. This is what I found their was only a few aprocrypha books that I read that could have been biblical. The New Age is nothing new when you compare their beliefs to the ancient Babylon religions. "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgement." (Hebrews 9:27)

This life is all you have so make sure what you believe is the word of God. There is no truth in myths and false religions. Again I ask, how can you say you know truth if you have never studied all of God's Word. We are so busy with so many other things in our life daily such as our jobs, most of all television seems to take first place in our daily lives. Where does God fit into your life will He have first place.

"He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; and He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle." (Isaiah 59:17) "Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6:13-17)

"For it is time for judgment to begin, with the household of God, and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And if it is with difficulty that the reighteous is saved, what will become of the Godless man and the sinner?" (1 Peter 4:17-18)

"Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outburst of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians 5:19-24)

I believe every word that God spoke in the Bible is for our instructions. When someone comes to me with the true Word of God, I rejoice. This is not so when someone tries to present false doctrine to me. I stand on God's word only and that includes Genesis to Revelation. I invite you to stand on this narrow road with me that will lead to everlasting salvation. When we open our ears and our eyes, we can then hear and see God's truth within His Word.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training, in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16) "You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you." (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:4; Revelation 22:18) "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation."

"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits, grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruit." (Matthew 7:13-20)

Do you produce good fruit by walking daily with Jesus and His Father? Have you ever thought how the world looks at you as a Christian? Do they see you as one who walks with Jesus daily, or do you act and talk just like them? When we tell someone we are a Christian they will watch and listen to what we do and say. You have been called by the name of God therefore you should walk as the Messiah did. After all He is our example for walking in righteousness each and every day.

"Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in Heaven will enter, Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many mircles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me you who practice lawlessnes. Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against the house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell-and great was its fall." (Matthew 7:21-27)

In the next article on the commandments we will look at Yeshua to see if we can go deeper into who He is. We can never learn enough about the Lord, we should all agree on wanting to be more like the Messiah.
